23 YEARS OF BRINGING EUROPEAN NEOCLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE TO THE URBAN LANDSCAPE BY CITYLAND GROUP

Back

Over 23 years of development, European Neoclassical architecture has become a defining hallmark of CityLand.

From residential developments in Ho Chi Minh City to commercial projects and the journey ahead in Hanoi, the language of Neoclassical architecture is thoughtfully adapted to each context, responding to contemporary functions and ways of life.

When Architecture Becomes a Defining Identity

In urban development, architecture does more than shape the appearance of a building. When pursued with consistency, it also becomes a way for a brand to articulate its perspective on living spaces through every project.

Founded in 2003, CityLand chose the spirit of European Neoclassical architecture as one of the foundational elements shaping its developments. Balanced proportions, columns, arches, balconies, and distinctive architectural details are thoughtfully incorporated into townhouses, villas, and commercial developments.

CityLand does not approach this style as a reproduction of Western architectural prototypes. Across each project, the Neoclassical language is refined in terms of form, proportion, and functionality to respond to the landscape, climate, and everyday lifestyles of Vietnamese residents.

CityLand and Its Established Urban Developments

CityLand Riverside, CityLand Garden Hills, CityLand Center Hills, and CityLand Park Hills are among the developments that have helped establish CityLand's presence in the northern part of Ho Chi Minh City.

At CityLand Garden Hills, European-inspired residences are arranged within an integrated masterplan encompassing townhouses, villas, commercial and educational spaces, landscaped areas, and greenery. CityLand Center Hills carries this architectural language forward through a townhouse-and-commercial model, combining a cohesive visual identity with flexible functionality for both residential and business needs.887-202609221825012.jpg

In the southern part of Ho Chi Minh City, CityLand Riverside offers a distinct expression of the same architectural language. Spanning 9.4 hectares along Nguyen Thi Thap Street, the development comprises 18 villas and 76 garden-linked townhouses. European Classical architecture is set against waterscapes and riverside greenery, demonstrating how a shared design language can be thoughtfully interpreted in response to the distinctive conditions of each setting.

From Residential Living to a Fully Integrated Urban Environment

A more distinctive expression of this identity can be seen at CityLand Park Hills, a 27-hectare urban development located along two major thoroughfares, Phan Van Tri and Nguyen Van Luong. The development is master-planned with nearly 2,000 residences, comprising villas, townhouses, commercial townhouses, and apartments.

If the low-rise precinct continues to embrace European Neoclassical architecture, the apartment component is developed with a distinctly contemporary approach, placing emphasis on natural ventilation, daylight, and the needs of multigenerational families. Rather than applying a single architectural expression across the development, each typology is given an approach tailored to its distinctive characteristics.

CityLand Park Hills also brings residential living into close connection with schools, a shopping centre, healthcare services, conference facilities, parks, and public squares. Spanning 15,000 square metres, Hoa Binh Square’s musical fountain, designed by architects from Takenaka, serves as a defining landscape feature and a vibrant communal space for the entire development.

By 2021, more than 1,500 certificates of ownership had been handed over to residents across CityLand’s urban developments, demonstrating the Group’s capability to complete projects, bring them into operation, and progressively establish stable residential communities.

Expanding into Commercial Developments

CityLand’s architectural identity extends beyond residential developments into its commercial and office projects. Located within CityLand Park Hills, Park Hills Palace is a mixed-use complex spanning approximately 13,500 square metres, drawing inspiration from European architecture while being thoughtfully planned to meet the requirements of modern operations.

Connected to the residential community, Hoa Binh Square, and the development’s integrated commercial and landscaped amenities, the project introduces spaces for working, business activities, and events. Architecture, therefore, does more than shape the visual identity of a development; it also contributes to creating a more complete urban living experience.

Continuing the Journey in Hanoi

Following a series of established developments in Ho Chi Minh City, CityLand is set to embark on a new chapter in Hanoi with The President Park, a low-rise residential development spanning approximately 6 hectares in Dai Mo Ward.

The development comprises detached villas, semi-detached villas, and townhouses, carrying forward the spirit of European Neoclassical architecture through balanced proportions, refined lines, distinctive roof forms, and generous windows that invite abundant natural light.

Hanoi is not simply a new location in which to replicate past experience. It is a city with its own distinctive identity, spatial character, and aesthetic standards shaped and refined over generations. Accordingly, the architecture of The President Park is conceived as part of a cohesive landscape that brings together plazas, pedestrian pathways, and a comprehensive range of on-site amenities, with an emphasis on harmony with the rhythm of life in the capital.

Over 23 years, European Neoclassical architecture has become a defining thread running through CityLand’s journey. Yet beyond these architectural lines and forms lies a deeper value that continues to guide the Group: the way each development integrates into everyday life, contributes to creating places where people can truly live well, and helps shape a more prosperous way of life for the community.
